Identifying the Design Need
on 06 July 2014 Modified on Thursday, 10 July 2014
Every design process must begin with a design problem. It is the design problem that defines the contributing factors of the design need and therefore the visual / product design factors that can lead to a potential design solution. The design need can come from several sources;
- the designer who identifies a problem in an existing design
- a client, a person or group that contracts the designer to design a product / visual communication to bridge the gap in a new or existing market
- the identified users / audience of the potential design solution who identify problems / gaps in the current design range.
